PwC Germany takes over almost all business activities of SIS Software GmbH
Postet in Announcements
On November 13th, the auditing and consulting firm PwC Deutschland took over almost all the business activities of SIS Software GmbH (SIS). The company was founded in 2012 as a spin-off of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and is the German market leader in the field of digital crowd management and privacy-conserving analysis of transaction data. The SIS employees will form a new team at PwC Germany with immediate effect. The team will strengthen Public Sector Consulting from PwC's Munich office and will be led by SIS founder Dr. Tobias Franke.
The team will continue existing business activities and develop new products, with a focus on integrative cooperation with leading scientific institutions in order to translate the latest knowledge into practical, value-added solutions. A first successful example of this approach is PwC Germany's COVID-19 management platform "Zone Check", which was developed and brought to market maturity in April 2020 in cooperation with DFKI, among others.
PwC Germany stands for Trust in Transformation
In an ever faster changing and networked world, PwC Germany works together with its clients to find answers to all the issues surrounding the transformation of their strategy, processes, technologies or workforce. PwC Germany is a reliable partner in the transformation process and provides competent and professional advice even on issues that may not yet be associated with the range of services offered by PwC Germany. Expanding existing competencies and adding new ones is an important part of the strategy.
Against this background, the acquisition of SIS will enable PwC Germany to complement its expertise in the field of digital products and expand its offering in the future-oriented field of processing transaction data with artificial intelligence.
„We are pleased to be able to combine the classic strengths of our consulting services with the latest AI technologies for motion data collection and analysis in the future. Especially customers from the public sector such as local authorities or public transport companies can be supplied with data that is collected efficiently and allows for new types of analysis.“
Dr. Nicolai Bieber, Head of Public Sector Consulting at PwC Germany
Pioneer in the field of digital crowd management
The innovative technologies of the SIS are mainly used in the context of major events, mobility analysis and public safety. The specially developed crowd sensing technology makes it possible to analyse and predict the movement behaviour of crowds of people in real time while respecting the privacy of the individual. The knowledge gained in this way can be used in a targeted manner for security, operational or sales-related issues. In crowds of people, whether at major events or at public transport stops, for example, movement patterns of people can be analysed. In this way, possible dangerous situations caused by too many people can be prevented. In the same way, the data obtained can be used to analyse the use of a transport infrastructure and support the planning and management of services.
SIS' clients and projects have included the FIA (International Automobile Federation), as well as major events such as Rock am Ring, the Lord Mayor's Show in London, the coronation ceremony of the Dutch King Willem Alexander I in Amsterdam and the Olympic Games in London. In the field of public transport, PwC Germany has already worked with SIS on projects such as the Munich transport company.
Dr Tobias Franke, founder and former Chief Executive Officer of SIS, is looking forward to the new opportunities for his team and for himself:
„As a pioneer in our sector, we are known throughout Europe for our solutions that push existing boundaries. Coupled with the deep industry and technology expertise of our new colleagues at PwC Germany, we will drive forward our advisory work in the public sector.“
Dr. Tobias Franke, Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of SIS
